Top Paddock Horse & Pony Paddock Fertiliser by HumberPalmer

Humber Palmers has been the ‘first choice’ fertiliser for many of the well known studs throughout the UK and Ireland for over 40 year.

This experience and continuing research has enabled us to develop Top Paddock, a unique nutritionally ‘complete’ organic based fertiliser specifically formulated for application on all horse and pony paddocks in a safe, naturally efficient and balanced manner.

  • Top Paddock has been proven to last longer than standard mineral fertilisers.
  • Research has shown Top Paddock is up to 25% more efficient than mineral fertilisers.
  • Top Paddock quality grass can save up to £300 a year of supplementary feed.

Benefits to you….

  • Maximises feed value of grass
  • Contains calcium for healthy bones
  • Low nitrates avoid causes of Laminitis
  • Hooves and skin benefit from trace elements
  • Includes sulphur vital for hair cells, skin and hooves
  • Safe for both horse and its environment

Complete Nutrition

Fertiliser is important for good paddock management. Good quality grass can save up to £300 per year of supplementary feed.

The specialist Humber Palmers manufacturing process ensures every granule of Top Paddock contains the optimum balance of nutrients for animal and pasture nutrition.

  • Nitrogen is included at the moderate level of 10% in the ammonium form. This produces steady growth of herbage, low in nitrate and avoids lush grass that might cause laminitis.
  • Balanced proportions of Phosphate and Potash are also included to help ensure the health of both plant and animal.
  • Top Paddock contains Magnesium and Sodium, which improves grass palatability and helps ensure more complete grazing of the paddocks.
  • Top Paddock also contains Calcium, which in association with Phosphate is important for healthy bones and muscle.
  • Sulphur is included to assist in the uptake and conversion of the nitrogen into true protein thereby maximising the feed value of the grass.
  • Top Paddock includes a wide spectrum of other natural Trace Elements such as Zinc important for healthy hooves and skin as well as Copper, Cobalt and Selenium which all contribute to overall animal health.

Natural Organic

Top Paddock includes a well researched organic base of vegetable origin, free from any weeds or pathogens, which is combined with carefully selected mineral raw materials. This enables the nutrients to be released in a phased way, providing a natural supply of plant food in line with the pastures requirements and thereby assisting in protecting the horse and it’s environment.

In addition, the organic base contains highly beneficial humic substances best described as Nature’s Plant Vitamins. They are responsible for many positive effects on pastures making Top Paddock the most complete natural fertiliser on the market for equine use.

  • Promotes Photosynthesis
  • Reduces Effect of Drought and Flood
  • Increases Grass Growth
  • Increases Resistance to Fungal Diseases
  • Stimulates Micro Nutrient Uptake
  • Improves Soil Structure and Fertility
  • Enhances Root Development Environmentally Friendly

Top Paddock Nitrogen is much safer than conventional fertilisers. The lower leaching effect greatly reduces the impact on the environment.

Application Recommendations

For optimum results apply:
100-140 kg per acre (5-7 bags)
260-380kg per hectare (13-19 bags)

From early March or as soon as conditions allow and again later during the growing season.

If making hay apply:
160-200kg per acre (8-10 bags)
380-500kg per hectare (19-25 bags)

Directions for Use

Top Paddock should be applied from early March and again later in the grazing season if required up to mid September. Ideally spread before rain is forecast, avoiding periods of excessive heat, dry or windy conditions.

Each 20Kg bag of Top Paddock will cover 600 square metres (7 bags per acre). To calculate the size of your paddock in square metres, multiply the length by width of the field.

Divide your paddock into two, spread Top Paddock on one section while grazing the other. Do not graze the treated section for at least 10 days or until you can’t see the fertiliser. This section can now be safely grazed whilst the remaining section is treated.

Top Paddock can be spread by hand or by mechanical fertiliser spreader. To spread Top Paddock by hand, divide your paddock into sections of 300 square metres. Empty half a bag (10Kg) into a bucket and cast out evenly over the marked section.
